Alikanas beach is next to Alykes, on the sheltered curve of the beautiful bay. It is a smaller, less developed resort, quieter than its neighbour and with a wide sandy beach. There are a few tavernas here and some self-catering apartments. You can enjoy water sports, such as jet skies and pedaloes. Like Alykes, it appeals to a mainly British market.
A ship wreck is slowly disintegrating just off the beach, which you can easily swim or wade out to. We wondered if this was a deliberate ploy by the locals, to offer an alternative shipwreck for when the more famous one, round the coast had eventually rusted away...
